As part of her role, Marwa is responsible for leading and managing the implementation of CARE's strategy for the development of the agriculture sector in Egypt. She manages and monitors relations with donors, sector key stakeholders and government authorities. Marwa joined CARE in March 2019 to support the organization's growing agriculture development portfolio where she found her passion in working with small farmers specially females and allow them to have equal opportunity as big farms in the market.
Athar Diab, a wife and mother of two, owns a flower shop in Banha, Qalyubia Governorate, and works as an inspector at the Ministry of Antiquities. Passionate about plants and flowers, she dreamed of studying agriculture but couldn't. However, she fulfilled her dream of planting and teaching gardening seven years ago.Athar owns a flower and vegetable farm, selling her produce at her shop. Balancing her job as an antiquities inspector, managing her farm, and caring for her children was challenging. Despite the mental pressure, she found comfort intending to her plants.Three years ago, she launched the Free Agricultural Day initiative, offering free training in her garden to women, girls, and children. She teaches them to grow vegetables and fruits at home, care for plants, and guides them in pruning, fertilizing, propagating, and planting seedlings like lemon, cucumber, and tomato.

Moreover, she has operation and maintenance experience of golf courses and public landscape for over 4,000,000 m2. She managed the operation and maintenance of malls, retails, floating restaurants, beaches, landscape, desalination plants, pools, lagoons, roads, public lighting and residential buildings and villas. She is currently the CEO for Jinet landscape and services consultancy, landscape, and water feature construction company that offers comprehensive landscaping services to commercial and residential projects across Egypt.
